Ever Heard of the ‘Unmothered Child?’

Have you ever heard of ‘the unmothered child’?

The unmothered child has not been nurtured

Not given the comfort that every child deserves

To simply give a child life is not enough

A child must feel protected and know trust

To be an unmothered child

Is a result of a damaging environment

Where a child is not truly cared for

They cannot thrive and do not grow

Past interactions hold them back; and so

The unmothered child

Goes through life questioning

And constantly battling

To know what it’s like for a person

To really accept and love another

Because the unmothered child

Did not experience this

From  their own mother
