No Place

black handprints2

I have no people

And I have no place

Where do I belong

In the Aboriginal race?

I know how I feel

And the blood that runs

Through my veins

Hidden ancestry

Their pain is now…

My pain

Assimilation

Written on paper

Government policy

Did they not consider

That they could

Fade the colour

But that the Black spirit

Would linger

Alive

Inside of me
